The APEx

60k Challenge

Starts Here!

It's Olympic Year - and this gives YOU a unique opportunity to help 'inspire a generation'.

It doesn't matter if you are an established athlete or completely new to exercise, with our 60k Challenge you can go one better than the world's elite athletes!

The total of all the flat running races in the Olympics is 60.195 kilometres.

No athlete does all that distance... BUT YOU CAN, with the help of APEx!

Over the 100 days between the arrival of the Olympic torch in Wirral on 1 June through to the closing Ceremony of the Paralympics on 9 September, you can get into the swing by walking, running or swimming a short distance every day.

You can easily achieve the 60k - it’s under 600 metres a day - that’s less than the distance between Conway Park station and Birkenhead Central Station, for example.   You don’t need to do the distances on your own, of course. If you take part in some of the regular APEx activities you will soon complete the distance - and it’s great fun!

Hands Up For the APEx 60k Challenge

Just 600 metres a day

is all you need to do!

Thank you to everyone who signed up to the Challenge at our stall at the Birkenhead Park Olympic Torch celebration on 1 June - please tell your friends and family to sign up, too!
